44.56 American Literature And Immigrant Natives.
This paper discusses the role of immigrant natives in American literature. Willa Cather's "O Pioneers!" addresses precisely the imbalance and uneasiness between the individual and society, which prevailed in America during the first Puritan settlement. The personal went against what was public, and the individual dream was at variance with the American Dream. Cather shows the struggle of individual potency against the external forces of history and the universe.

45.127 Ethnic Identity.
This paper discusses the importance of ethnic identity. One quite visible phenomenon has been occurring in the United States since the 1960s that has challenged the minds of sociologists, other thinkers and observers. Waves of immigrants and their descendants, 60 million as of recent count, have entered and settled in the Continent from practically every country in the world (Jacoby 2003). What is startling is that they now constitute a fifth of the entire population, assuming a whole range of occupations and all socioeconomic levels - businessmen and women to unskilled laborers, night or day, in every region of this county. Nothing says how their sheer number can or will bring about any kind of transformation, positive or negative, but everyone is watching, wide-eyed.

46.132 America's Melting Pot.
This paper is on America as a melting pot due to the assimilation of immigrants in America. Today, huge numbers of Americans are of mixed cultures. Many do not fit the limiting categories of race such as White, Black or Negro, American Indian or Alaskan Native, and Asian or Pacific Islander -- outlined in Statistical Directive 15, which was adopted in 1978 by the Office of Management and Budget and used in the 1990 U.S. Census of the Population. A rising number of Americans are "Multiracial-Americans." This making the term "melting pot" even more appropriate. The people of this country are most of a mixture of several different cultures; the backgrounds of our citizens cannot be reduced to one label or another. To be "American" now means a "melting" of several different ethnic categories.

47.787 Illegal Mexican Immigration to Texas
The chaos and illegality around the border has got to be stopped. Legal transportation of goods is what drives both the Mexican and American economies. Illegal transportation of goods and people is uncontrollable especially in the state of Texas, and it places the transfer of resources in the hands of smugglers and kingpins.

48.823 California/Tijuana Border Enforcement
The United States of America and the United Mexican States agree to oblige in agreement with their prevailing national legislation in order to predict and consider the effects and consequences that the works planned may have on environmental conditions in the Tijuana-San Diego zone and, if required, agree on a determination of the measures necessary to safeguard environmental conditions and ecological processes.
This paper is on the country of Mexico. "There is evidence of human existence in Mexico since 20,000 years BC" (Mexican-embassy 1). Northern Mexico was actually populated with people who were hunter-gatherers. In the South there were agricultural societies. "Even though in the vast Mesoamerica region (a term used by scholars to designate peoples which occupied the central area of Mexico down to Guatemala and Honduras to the South), many different peoples had their own ethnic and linguistic differences" (Mexican-embassy 1). They had their own structure of government. They had a calendar that consisted of 365 days. They built pyramids. Their religion had the same concept of cosmic duality - the beginning and the end.
